INK COMPOSITION AND ITS PREPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the shelf stability and the viscosity stability to the pH and temperature of an ink composition used for an ink jet printing process. SOLUTION: This ink composition used contains water, a coloring agent, a fluorinated hydrocarbon such as a fluoride selected from (1) a fluoride of the formula: [F2n+1CnCH2S)2(CH3)C-CH2CH2COO-][B+] (wherein (n) is an integer of about 8 to about 20; and B is a cation), (2) a fluoride of the formula: [F3C(F2 C)nCH=CHCH2OCH(OH)CH2]2NCH2COO-}[X+] (wherein X is a cation; and (n) is an integer of about 3 to about 20), and (3) a mixture thereof, a monomer compound having at least two functional carboxyl groups, and the like. These components are mixed, and the mixture is subjected to ultrasonication to prepare the ink composition.
