PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition having remarkably improved processability, relief-forming property, pigment dispersibility, etc., by adding a specific amount of a fatty acid metal salt having respectively specific average particle diameter and particle size distribution to a thermoplastic resin. SOLUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin with (B) 0.01-5 pts.wt. of a fatty acid metal salt (e.g. zinc stearate) having an average particle diameter of <=10μm and containing particles having diameter of >10μm in an amount of <=4 wt.% based on the whole particles. In the component B, the difference between the 30% particle diameter RA and 70% particle diameter RC is preferably <=3μm and the difference between 50% particle diameter RB and 95% particle diameter RD is preferably <=6μm. The component B is produced preferably by reacting an aqueous solution containing an alkali metal salt or ammonium salt of a fatty acid with an aqueous solution or dispersion of an inorganic metal salt at or below the crystal dislocation starting temperature of the produced fatty acid metal salt and dehydrating and drying the produced aqueous dispersion of a fatty acid metal salt under the above temperature condition.
