The linkage has a first part (30) terminating in a ball (32) and a second, adjustable length part (40) terminating in a socket (46). The socket is preceded by a tapered guide (44) to aid insertion of the ball. A slot (48) between the inner end of the guide and the ball socket allows fitting of a retaining spring (50) over the outside of the socket and part engaging round the neck of the ball.
