PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input method and an input device for musical sound information simplifying input operation to reduce the time used for the operation. SOLUTION: When a chord is inputted, the note type identifying the chord, the note length of the first component sound of the chord, and the pitch of the first component sound of the chord are provided for the first time, and only the pitches corresponding to the other component sounds of the chord are provided sequentially for the next and the later inputs. When a single sound is entered, the note type identifying the single sound, the note length of the single sound, and the pitch of the single sound are provided for the first time. A new pitch is provided when the note length is maintained, or a new note length is provided when the pitch is maintained for the next and the later notes. This increases the operability largely for a step input simplifying the input operation to reduce the time used for the operation.
