摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it compatible at high level to reduce NOx and to reduce smoke in exhaust by improving a combustion state, in a direct injection diesel engine indirectly controlling an air-fuel ratio of a combustion chamber 4 by adjusting the reflux amount of the exhaust. SOLUTION: In an area I of low rotation driving and middle load and more driving of an engine, fuel injection by an injector is conducted in two steps of early injection which starts injecting one-third or more of total injection amount per one fuel cycle by BTDC 90 deg. CA, and later injection which starts injecting the remaining fuel near a compression upper dead point. The fuel injection in the two steps can be conducted when the engine shifts from a normal driving state to an acceleration driving state.
