PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently enhance the adhesion strength between a hardening layer and a photosensitive layer by incorporating a reducing agent into the hardening layer or photosensitive layer and subjecting the hardening layer to surface treatment with specified energy/min corona discharge or specified energy/min glow discharge. SOLUTION: A hardening layer 2 containing an ethylenic unsatd. polymerizable compd. and an ethylenic unsatd. crosslinking polymer, and a photosensitive layer 3 containing silver halides and hydrophilic polymers are successively formed in this order on a supporting body. The hardening layer 2 or the photosensitive layer 3 contains a reducing agent. The hardening layer 2 is subjected to surface treatment with 5 to 100 W/m2/min corona discharge or 1 to 40 W/m2/min glow discharge. By subjecting the photosensitive material above described to 5 to 100 W/m2/min corona discharge treatment or 1 to 40 W/m2/min glow discharge treatment, the adhesion strength between the hardening layer 2 and the photosensitive layer 3 can be significantly enhanced without causing fracture in the hardening layer 2. Moreover, by increasing the energy amt. in the discharge treatment, the surface has higher hydrophilicity. |
