PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous lubricating composition giving lubricating processability comparable to that in the case where it has been treated for phosphate coating even under severe conditions and needing no complicated pretreatment or post-treatment like a phosphate coating treatment. SOLUTION: This aqueous lubricating composition is obtained by compounding water with a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin, a metal atom-containing solid lubricant, and a metal salt, ester or partially saponified ester of a >=20C aliphatic acid. The water-soluble or water-dispersible resin is preferably a urethane resin, and the solid lubricant is preferably the one containing molybdenum atoms. |
