PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic resin, capable of efficiently separating evaporable components contained in the thermoplastic resin from the thermoplastic resin and capable of preventing the adhesion of the separated evaporable components to the insides of the pipings of a device. SOLUTION: This method for producing a thermoplastic resin contains a solvent-adding process for adding an organic solvent to the thermoplastic resin during an extrusion process for heating, melting and kneading the thermoplastic resin and then extruding the kneaded thermoplastic resin from a die 40, and a vacuum removing process for subjecting the solvent-added thermoplastic resin to a vacuum treatment to evaporate off volatile components contained in the thermoplastic resin together with an organic solvent from the thermoplastic resin. Thereby, it can be prevented that the evaporated components adhere to the inner walls of bents 14a-14e and pipings.
