<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting and removing method of impurity in iron, with which the impurities of harmful Cu, Sn, etc. to the material and the stable production from a viewpoint of the production of a steel material when recycling an iron scrap, etc., can efficiently be removed in the molten state. SOLUTION: After melting the iron scrap containing Cu and the inevitable impurities with the total weight of the iron and the soluble elements into the iron, as 100 wt.%, C is added in the range shown in the inequality 5.0×(1-Cu/100)<=C<=20, (Cu, C are shown in the wt.%) into this molten iron. Successively, the molten iron is separated into Fe-enriched layer and Cu-enriched layer, and Cu contained in the iron scrap is removed from the Fe-enriched layer by utilizing the difference in specific gravity between both layers and precipitating/separating Cu into the Cu-enriched layer.</p> |
