PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently treat particles capable of accelerating electrification, to uniformly supply the electrification accelerating agent and to improve treatability of the electrification accelerating agent, in the electrifying device using electroconductive particles as the electrification accelerating agent. SOLUTION: Supplying and coating of electroconductive particles m to an electrifying member 2 are made uniform in the longitudinal direction of the electrifying member 2 by storing the electroconductive particles m as electrification accelerating particles in the form of the granule M, and then shaving the granule M to obtain fine particles m. Further, the amount of coating of the electroconductive particles m onto the electrifying member 2 is made appropriate and the multi layer coating of the electroconductive particles m can be avoided, and furthermore, falling off of the electroconductive particles m stuck on the electrifying member 2 to a body to be electrified is inhibited. As the electroconductive particles m are stored in the form of the granule M, without directly storing the electroconductive particles m which are fine particles having small particle diameters, scattering of the electroconductive particles m is suppressed to be low and treatability of the electrification accelerating agent is also improved.
