PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized radiation detector which basically finds a coarse two-dimensional distribution with respect to a wider section in a detection part and to make discriminableβ-rays fromα-rays. SOLUTION: This radiation detector is provided with a scintillator 1 which comprises a plurality of scintillator cells which generate beams of scintillation light when neutrons or an ionzing radiation are incident, condensation and transmission means 2, 3 which wavelength-convert the beams of scintillation light generated in the scintillation cells so as to be transmitted as a light signal. A light detection means 4 which comprises light receiving units corresponding to the respective scintillation cells and which converts the light signal into an electric signal so as to be output, and a signal processing means 10 which processes the electric signal, which discriminates the light receiving units used to receive the light signal, and which discriminates the scintillation cells used to emit the beams of light.
