PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a standard thread supporting apparatus for spinning machine free from stagnant of thread or standard thread on the end of a standard thread supporting lever or in the lever and prevent failure in ending and doffing operation caused from thread twining around spinning unit and members for ending and doffing operation by loosing of the standard thread or thread spinning twisted from the spinning machine in connected state with the standard thread. SOLUTION: This apparatus has suction members s13, s16 installed in the vicinity of the end of the standard thread supporting lever s1 of the standard thread supporting member S sucking the restarted spinning thread or standard thread connected to the thread, and installing a through-hole s8 to pass through the drawn out standard thread from a standard thread package formed on the prescribed standard thread supporting lever locating depth of the suction member producing sucking force by the spurt of compressed air.
