PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective fence arranged between a driveway and a footpath, capable of suppressing a wheelchair user from being hurt when a wheelchair collides with it, assisting the walking of a physically handicapped person, and not requiring a member or a handrail to be newly provided for suppressing the wheelchair user from being hurt. SOLUTION: Multiple supports 3 are provided on the ground 5 at the prescribed intervals, and parallel beam members 7, 9, 11 are provided on multiple supports 3. The beam member 7 at the lower end is protruded to the footpath side at the position to be kept in contact with the lower sections of the wheels of a wheelchair to stop the wheelchair. The beam member 11 at the upper end is protruded to the footpath side at the position where a pedestrian is supported with a hand to serve as a handrail.
