PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator having low vibration, low noise and good riding comfort by providing a shaft bearing means for changing flexural rigidity of a bear shaft, a revolution estimating means for the gear shaft an analyzing means for vibration of a gearing, and an input calculating means for controlling the shaft bearing means from a revolution estimated value and the analyzed result. SOLUTION: A revolution estimating means 1 estimates revolutions from a driving current value or a voltage value, and an analyzing means 3 calculates natural frequencies and a vibration mode of a gearing from the gear data 2, and information of revolutions in driving and a vibration mode of natural frequencies are obtained by an input calculating means 4. The revolutions are converted to frequencies. When the frequencies approach the natural frequencies, a signal for improving bearing rigidity is fed to a bearing pressure mechanism 5 so as to pass a resonance point. At this time, a bearing spring constant estimating means 6 feeds back a constant calculated by pressing force to the analyzing means 3. Therefore, the difference between the actual natural frequencies and the frequencies at that time can be obtained by the input calculating means 4, and suitable control can be performed. Therefore, low vibration and low noise can be achieved.
