PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which can be attached/detached without detaching or attaching a dust-proof member. SOLUTION: This optical scanner is provided with the dust-proof member 150 at the laser emitting port of an optical scanning unit equipped with a laser unit, an optical scanning means and an image-forming optical system. In the scanner, the member 150 is locked on the housing 145 of the optical scanning unit, and provided so that it can be pulled out from the optical scanner at the time of releasing locking and may be positioned inside a side plate 163 to which the optical scanning unit is attached at the time of locking.
