PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a straight-sided or non-cylindrical lens barrel capable of attaining both the miniaturization and the satisfactory maintain a lens driving amount. SOLUTION: As for the lens barrel provided with a moving barrel 101 which is moved backward and forward in an optical axis direction while holding a lens 101a, and an actuator 103 which is stored in the moving barrel and for driving the moving barrel so that the barrel may be moved backward and forward, the moving barrel is formed so that the cross section shape orthogonal to the optical axis may be provided with a linear part (for example, rectangle), and the actuator 103 is arranged near the linear part so that the longitudinal direction of the actuator 103 may be parallel to the linear part.
