PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the easy connection and disconnection to an adapter and to prevent the easy disconnection from the adapter. SOLUTION: The connector plug 10 is freely attachable and detachable to and from the adapter 20 having a cavity to be inserted with the connector plug 10 and a hole 20a for detaining the connector plug. The connector plug 10 has an optical fiber 12a, a ferrule 12, a housing 11, an elastic engaging piece 13 having an engaging 13a projected to be detained to the hole 20a of the adapter and a pressing part 13b projected pressing operably when the connector plug 10 is inserted to the adapter 20 and a stopper 30 for locking the movement of the elastic engaging piece 13. The height of the pressing part 13b is made nearly equal to the height of an accepting part by making the projecting height of the pressing part 13b nearly flush with the housing surface of the adapter 20 or providing the adapter 20 with an accepting part 20b for accepting the pressing part 13b so as to enclose the same from the circumference.
