PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make displayable easy-to-recognize information concerning to the next left/right turn intersection sufficiently before the actual left/right turn by specifying the next left/right turn intersection in map data, counting the number of passing intersections between a current position specified according to a set course and the next left/right turn intersection and indicating a numeral related to the count. SOLUTION: A vehicle position calculator 6 specifies one candidate point as the current position of a vehicle through collation with the map data of that area. A course searching unit 8 searches the start point of the course and a left/right turn intersection on the course based on a current position data and map data for the current position and a goal obtained from a memory 1. A calculation memory 9 stores a course search data calculated at the course searching unit 8 and calculates the number of intersections being passed before reaching the next left/right turn intersection based on the latest data of current position obtained from the vehicle position calculator 6 and peripheral data obtained from the memory 1. An information output unit 10 processes the data of the number of intersections based on guide data from the calculation memory 9.
