<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the long-life potentiometer of an electric power steering device where an output signal cannot be interrupted or no noise is generated. SOLUTION: In an electric power steering device for detecting the steering torque of a steering wheel by a torsion bar and adding the torque of an assistance motor according to an output voltage from a potentiometer 30 in linking with the amount of detection, the potentiometer 30 is provided with a magnetosensitive element 53 and a magnet 40 that is provided turnably with the magnetosensitive element 53 as a center and has magnetic pole surfaces 40a that oppose each other while sandwiching the magnetic sensitive element 53, thus rotating the magnet 40 according to the displacement angle of the torsion bar.</p> |
