PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve earthquake resistance and endurance of historical wooden buildings while maintaining the conditions of original construction as much as possible. SOLUTION: This is a reinforcing construction having a joint portion for jointing a column 1, beam 2 and brace 3 together, and a wall 4 at joint portion is a reinforcing construction for an existing wooden building having wooden lath 5 as backing for coated wall. Thus, a reinforcing board 10 having the thickness as same as that of the existing wooden lath is attached to the joint portion by replacing the existing wooden lath and fixed to the column, beam and brace, the reinforcing board is used as backing and a coated wall made of the same finish material 6 as that of existing wall is formed and the existing wall 4 is restored. A wooden lath receiver 11 is attached to support the end portion of the existing wooden lath at the rear side of the reinforcing board. A perforated plywood or lathed plywood is used as a reinforcing board.
