PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the rolling life of a rolling bearing used under high temp., high vibration and high loads such as of an engine auxiliary machine or the like. SOLUTION: This is a rolling bearing 1 in which plural rolling elements 4 are arranged on the spaces of bearing rings composed of a fixed ring 2 and a rotary ring 3, at least either the fixed ring 2 or the rotary ring 3 contg. 0.65 to 1.25% C, 0.7 to 2.5% Si and 0.5 to 3.0% Cr and moreover contg. at least one kind of 0.5 to 3.0% Mo and 0.05 to 0.5% Ti is subjected to tempering treatment after quenching to finely disperse and precipitate Mo carbides or Ti carbides of 50 to 300 nm, by which hydrogen trapping effect on the rolling surface by the Mo or Ti carbides is obtd. to suppress and prevent the intrusion of hydrogen into the vicinity of the maximum shearing stress position, and moreover, the generation and propagation of initial microcracks are suppressed and prevented by the dispersion and precipitation of the fine Mo carbides.
