PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make accurately measurable the liq. level by placing a pressure receiving diaphragm vertically to a liq. surface to be measured to detect the head pressure of a measuring medium. SOLUTION: A pressure sensor 11 and signal amplifier converter 13 are disposed in a housing 9 of a detector, a pressure detector 15 is disposed on the top end of the housing 9, the detector 15 is composed of a pressure receiving diaphragm 17 and a seal liq. 19 of a measuring medium, the diaphragm 17 is disposed vertical to the liq. surface with leaving the top end thickness of the detector 15 so that the diaphragm face 17a is directed sidewards, the seal liq. 19 transfers the pressure conducting via the diaphragm 17 to the pressure sensor 11, a signal amplifier converter 13 converts the detected pressure to an electric signal which is sent to a relay housing through a hollow cable. Thus, air vents vertically along the diaphragm face 17a while the detector is immersed, and hence the liq. level can accurately measured, without stagnating air.
