<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data input device to unnecessitate separate installation of a pointing device like a mouse, etc., by enabling detection of a finger position as well as authentication of the finger. SOLUTION: A changeover switch 3 is set on the analog switch circuit 5 side and successively switches the analog switch circuit 5 while AC pulses are impressed to a certain horizontal electrode 1 when finger coordinates are measured. A signal which is applied to the horizontal electrode 1 is transmitted to a vertical electrode 2 through a capacitance between the horizontal electrode 1 and the vertical electrode 2, converted into a voltage value through the analog switch circuit 5 by a resistor 9. Required signal components are taken out by a band-pass filter of a detection circuit 8, after that, its magnitude is converted into a digital signal by an AD converter 10 and outputted. And a signal to be outputted from the AD converter 10 at timing when a cross point where the finger is placed is selected acquires X, Y coordinates of the placed finger by utilizing a fact that its output is smaller than that of other signals.</p> |
