PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a heat-resistance, a durability and a productivity and to improve a friction coefficient and a heat spot resistance by using a cured product of a hydrolysis liquid of silicone alkoxide as a binder in a wet friction agent comprising a fiber material, a filler, a friction-adjusting agent and the binder. SOLUTION: A cured product of a hydrolysis solution of silicone alkoxide is used as a binder in a wet friction material comprising a fiber material, a filler, a friction-adjusting agent and the binder. Here, as the fiber material, a natural pulp fiber, an organic synthetic fiber and an inorganic fiber can be used. As the filler and the friction-adjusting agent, a diatomaceous earth and a cashew resin can be used. As the silicone alkoxide, one kind of a monomer such as tetramethoxysilane having four functionalities and a low condensation product thereof or two kind or more of mixtures is used. Water quantity to be added is preferably no less than a molecule number of the silicone alkoxide and a half of the functional groups is preferably not more than a hydrolyzable quantity. |
