摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of clogging and to enable smooth cutting by coating, with diamond-like carbon, the prescribed area of the surface of a metallic base material on which abrasive is electrodeposited. SOLUTION: An abrasive 13 of diamond, etc., constituting an electrodeposition coated blade is mixed with an electrolytic solution. When an electrodeposition substrate and a metal for electrolysis are immersed in an electrolytic solution and a prescribed voltage is applied between the electrodeposition substrate and the metal for electrolysis, the diamond abrasive 13 mixed with the electrolytic solution is settled and deposited on the electrodeposition surface of the electrodeposition substrate and also plating with the metal for electrolysis is performed to grow an electrodeposition layer consisting of the diamond abrasive 13 and a metallic base material. Masking is applied to the prescribed part of the surface of a blade composed of the metallic base material 40 and this blade is placed in a vacuum tank, where gaseous hydrocarbon is introduced and heating is carried out to form a coating layer 41 composed of diamond-like carbon. The coating layer 41 is formed to a thickness smaller than the height of the abrasive 13 projecting from the metallic base material 40, so that cutting can be performed without hindrance.
