An atomizing nozzle 15, for dispensing a liquid from a container in the form of a spray of liquid particles, includes a supply structure (feed tube 23), for transporting a liquid L under manually generated pressure from the container, and a discharge orifice 44 in fluid communication and generally concentric with a swirl chamber 42. The swirl chamber has a diameter in the range of between 1.3 mm and 2.0 mm and is in fluid communication with a plurality of radial vanes 48. The vanes decrease in cross sectional area toward the swirl chamber and have a cumulative vane exit area in the range of between 0.18 mm2 and 0.36 mm2.
