PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a cornering performance on ice with which the cornering performance on ice can be evaluated in a narrower space than in the conventional case with equal or a higher level than the conventional level by forming a frozen road face to part of a turning test road, and the performance of an actual vehicle can be measured stably and evaluated with an inexpensive facility. SOLUTION: A turning test road 10 is constituted of a concrete-paved, non- frozen road face 12 where an actual vehicle 11 turns at a predetermined velocity, and a frozen road face 13 obtained by freezing part of the turning test road 10 in a predetermined thickness. A change in lateral acceleration or angular velocity of yaw when the actual vehicle 11 turns the turning test road 10 at a predetermined velocity and enters from the non-frozen road face 12 to the frozen road face 13 at a predetermined velocity is measured, and a cornering performance of tires is evaluated from the velocity change.
