PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stiffness and durability of a ball joint by suppressing the increase of a rolling friction torque. SOLUTION: This ball joint has a ball stud 7, a socket 6 detachably supporting the ball head part 71 of the ball stud 7, a ball seat 2 arranged in the inside of the socket 6, and a cap 5 fixed in the opening part 60 of the socket 6. The opening part 60 of the socket 6 has a base end part 61 and a caulking part 62, and a socket taper part 612 is arranged in the inner circumferential part of the base end part 61. A seat taper part 205 is arranged in the inner circumferential part of the opening part 20 of the ball seat 2. The peripheral part 206 of the opening part 20 of the ball seat 2 abuts on the socket taper part 612 under a caulking condition. The inner surface of the ball seat 2 comprises a plurality of strip planes 27, and a grease sump 3 is formed between the adjacent strip planes 27 and the ball head part 71.
