PURPOSE: A high density recording medium and recording/reproducing apparatus therefor is provided to accurately separate a head region having header information and a mirror region by forming a pit series which is greater than a pitch of a track. CONSTITUTION: A first pit series(14) is formed on a line connected to a center line of a track(12) with a gully, and indicates a physical position of a user information region having the track(12) with the gully. A second pit series(16) is formed on a line connected to a track(10) with a mountain, and indicates a physical position of a user information region having the track(10) with the mountain. Mirror regions(18) are formed between a rear side portion of the track(12) and a front end portion of the first pit series(14) and between a rear side portion of the second pit series(16) and the a front end portion of the track(10).
