PURPOSE: A charging method for a chargeable vacuum cleaner is provided to select charging time according to necessity by making a charger perform charging steps by selecting the time. CONSTITUTION: To charge a vacuum cleaner, a body is settled in a charger for supplying power supply via a plug. Then, a power supply switch is turned on for setting desired time via a key matrix to make a microcomputer recognize the input of the set up charging time. The set up charging time is checked for comparing and setting which time the set up time is correspond among a first, a second, or a third time by the microcomputer. The result is outputted via a terminal(T1) of a corresponding timer. Herein, the outputs of the other terminals(T2,T3) are opened by the microcomputer. Then, the completion of the charging time is recognized by the microcomputer. The output of high level via the terminal is stopped for displaying the completion of the charging time by feeding driving output to a display.
