Electrically-operated detonator has a cupola-shaped detonating globule fixed to a heating element between electrodes, the droplet being: (i) an intimate mixture of radical resin binder UV-hardened in situ and particulate UV-absorbent pyrotechnic material; and (ii) the resin binder prior to hardening is a liquid of surface tension, viscosity and wettability suitable for configuration on the heating element.
