The device is for accurate positioning of the sleepers of a track grid, which is imbedded in fresh concrete. The sleepers are suspended from a rail-like construction or the final rails. Due to inner or outer construction, this is subjected to smaller temperature-dependent length variations by a factor of 5, pref. 10, than steel rails of similar length. The rail-like construction is of a material with a length expansion coefficient, which is less than 1/5, pref. less than 1/10, of that of iron. It is e.g. of glass ceramics, pref. Zerodur (r) or quartz glass. The construction has a tempering device of connected hollow chambers containing flowing water.
