PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for recording a digital data stream are provided to record a digital data stream by synthesizing the clock reference of a transport stream packet with the program clock reference selectively inserted into a transport stream packet and adding the clock reference synthesized with the program clock reference to data stream when recording a data stream to a streamer through a communication interface. CONSTITUTION: A method for recording a digital data stream comprises the steps of: detecting a program clock reference included in a received digital transport stream packet; creating a transport clock reference of each transport stream packet, on the basis of the detected program clock reference and the reception clock of the digital transport stream packet; and creating a transport stream unit by adding the created transport clock reference to each transport stream packet and recording the transport stream unit in a recording medium(250).
