The magnetic coil device has an encapsulated coil (11), with a wound coil former (15) encased by a plastics (16), provided with a plug socket (17), with a metal housing (12) enclosing the coil fitting into a recess (23) provided between the outside of the encapsulated coil and the plug socket. The latter has an opening for a coupling element providing an electrical connection between an earth protection tag (18) and the metal housing, enclosed by a peripheral seal.
