The invention concerns a steam iron soleplate comprising a heating metal base (12) including a vaporization chamber, a metal plate (14) directly mounted on the base, whereof the outer face (15) forms an ironing surface pierced with holes (22) communicating with the vaporization chamber. The invention is characterised in that an elastic tubular stud (25) is arranged in each hole (22) of the plate (14) and lines the edge of the hole (22) inner surface so as to provide an outlet (26) for steam.
