PURPOSE: A method for performing reservation record of TVCR having PIP function is provided to perform a reservation record of a broadcasting signal of a good picture located at one side by performing a record as the double screen type when a video synchronous signal is more than a certain number and performing a record as a PIP screen type when the video synchronous signal is less than the certain number. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor identifies as to whether a reservation mode is selected and displays a set menu picture of a reservation record on an OSD picture(S100,S101). A microprocessor identifies as to whether a reservation channel, a record start/end time, a record date, a selection of a double screen are set, and periodically judges as to whether a broadcasting signal of a reservation set channel is inputted(S103,S104). The microprocessor judges as to whether a current picture mode is set as a double screen type when the broadcasting signal of the reservation set channel is inputted(S104). The microprocessor identifies a number of video synchronous signals of the broadcasting signal to determine a screen type(S106). The microprocessor performs a record as the double screen type when the number of video synchronous signals are more than 7(S107). The microprocessor performs the record as a PIP screen type when the number of video synchronous signals are less than 7(S108).
