Protection method for motor vehicle key with electronic coding

The electronically-coded key protection method involves blocking the use of the key (20) when the stored security code loaded in the memory of the key microprocessor is altered, or when the data communication path between the key and the lock is blocked. The key can only be unblocked by direct or indirect input of unblocking code data. The data are compared with stored unblocking code data, to allow the original security code to be restored, or when the data communication path is released.
