METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF WATER-SOLUBLE CONDUCTIVE POLYANILINE

PURPOSE: A preparation method of water-soluble conductive polyanilines is provided which carries out sulfonation by dispersing polyanilines or their derivatives without coagulating and produces the title compound excellent in water solubility and conductivity. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing water-soluble conductive polyanilines comprises (1)sulfonating by dropping a sulfonating agent such as chlorosulfuric acid per 1kg polyaniline having a moisture content of 0 to 8 mass% or derivatives thereof at a velocity of 0.5 to 8 kg/hr and stirring with an initial agitation power of 0.03 to 0.3 kW/m¬3 and (2) hydrolyzing. The process is characterized in that polyaniline introduced sulfonated groups or derivatives thereof is hydrolyzed in a mixture solution of water and a hydrophilic organic solvent. The water-soluble conductive polyaniline solution obtained in accordance with the process forms a thin film by a simple method such as a spin coating, a tip coating and a bar coating and can be used for various anti static uses and a nonlinear optical material.
