The present invention relates to a winding core for linear motors, wherein said core comprises a yoke (3) with protruding teeth (4) through which a plurality of flutes (5) for receiving the windings are formed. The teeth include in each case a section (7) located on the side of the yoke and a section (6) located away from the yoke. In order to reduce the flow density in the section located on the side of the yoke, said section is widened laterally, i.e. in a direction perpendicular to the displacement direction of the linear motor, relative to the section located away from the yoke.
