A paint system (20) includes a plurality of supply tanks (21) that can be selected for supplying powder paint (22) to a spray site, each having a supply line (23) connected to the supply tank (21) and having an end section (25), a spray gun (26), and a purge air supply (27). Each end section (25) is configured for selective connection to the spray gun (26) to spray powder paint (22) from the supply tank (21) and also for connection to the purge air supply (27) to blow residue powder paint (22) in the supply line (23) back into the supply tank (21). A control device (29) operably connects a fluidizing air supply (35) to each supply tank (21). The control device (29) is configured to fluidize the powder paint (22) in each tank (21) at a low standby pressure when the supply tank (21) is not in use, and to fluidize the powder paint (22) in the tank (21) at a higher operating pressure when the supply tank (21) is selected for use. Methods related to the above cause the color change to be very efficient and quick, with low waste of powder paint (22).
