<p>Compounds represented by the following general formula (I) Ar?1-S-R1-S-Ar2¿, and salts thereof, which have an effect of inhibiting ribonucleotide reductase to suppress the proliferation of cancer cells selectively wherein Ar1 is aryl bearing 1 to 3 hydroxyl groups on the ring; Ar2 is monocyclic heteroaryl containing as the ring-constituting atoms 1 to 3 heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur and optionally bearing a substituent on the ring; and R?1 is -R2-X1-R3¿- [wherein R?2 and R3¿ are each independently an optionally substituted C¿1?-C10 carbon chain; and X?1¿ is CH¿2?, O or N(R?4¿) (wherein R4 is a monovalent group or a monovalent atom)].</p> |
