PURPOSE: A coloring composition which has high insulating property and is also excellent in light fastness, light resistance and dispersion stability, and a color filter, an electrode substrate and a liquid crystal display device using the same are provided. CONSTITUTION: A coloring composition comprises a coloring agent containing titanium black, a resin and an insulating material. Preferably, the insulating material is in an amount of 1 - 35 wt.% based on the coloring agent and the coloring agent is coated with the insulating material. Preferably, the insulating material also contains at least one selected from the group consisting of silica, alumina and zirconia. The coloring agent can further comprise, in addition to dispersing agent and solvent, photopolymerization monomer and photopolymerization initiator, or cross linking agent and mineral acid generator, or photopolymerization monomer and diazo or azide compound. The coloring composition has high insulating property and is most suitable for the formation of black matrix. Liquid crystal display device with high quality can be obtained by using the black matrix. |
