PURPOSE: A gel electrolyte is to allow a liquid phase electrolyte to be gelled by a gelling agent, thereby chemically stabilizing the electrolyte without any lowering of conductivity of the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION: A gel electrolyte contains at least one gelling agent and a material which is in a liquid state at room temperature and has a high ion conductivity. The material is in a liquid salt state at room temperature. The gelling agent is a self-assembling chemical compound forming a polymer aggregate by a hydrogen bond or a coordinate bond. The self-assembling chemical compound has at least one or more radical out of a group of carbolate, amide, urea, carboxyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, phosphate, amino and ammonium. |
