<p>The present invention comprises compositions and methods directed to analysis and detection of target nucleic acid sequences. Particularly, the methods and compositions comprise formation of duplex and triplex structures. In some embodiments, hairpin structures are employed. Novel restriction methods are provided for restriction of nucleic acids. Signal amplification systems, including duplex, triplex and MTRF systems, are also provided that allow for detection of very low copy number targets. These compositions and methods are especially useful in diagnostic assays.</p> |
