Novel shaped articles, such as plant trays, insulating panels, pots or composite materials, are obtained from a molding composition comprising 20-50 wt. % proteinaceous raw material, 45-65 wt. % water, 5-40 wt. % vegetable fibers, 5-20 wt. % minerals and 1-10 wt. % nutrients. An Independent claim is included for the preparation of the articles.
