PURPOSE: A method for performing a reserved channel of a TVCR(TV/Video Cassette Recorder) and a CATV(Cable TV) in one is provided to search a corresponding channel by automatically converting into a CATV mode. CONSTITUTION: A method for performing a reserved channel of a TVCR(TV/Video Cassette Recorder) and a CATV(Cable TV) in one comprises the steps of: searching a reserved channel by a tuner when the TVCR reserved the channel; searching the reserved channel by automatically converting into a CATV mode, when a synchronization signal is not detected in the searched reserved channel; searching a channel neighboring with the reserved channel when the synchronization signal is not detected; replaying a tape by deciding whether the tape exists in a video deck, when the synchronization signal is not detected in the neighboring channel; and suspending power supply if the tape does not exist.
