PURPOSE: A method is provided for removing water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and ethylene from an air material stream before a low temperature-distillation process for dividing a nitrogen or an oxygen concentrative stream. CONSTITUTION: Water is absorbed by passing an air material stream containing ethylene and nitrous oxide through a first absorbent if water and carbon dioxide exist, and then carbon dioxide is removed by passing it through a second absorbent. Next, water, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and ethylene are removed from a nitrogen concentrative stream by passing through a third absorbent of a sufficient amount to remove nitrous oxide and ethylene from the air material stream. Lastly, the nitrogen or an oxygen concentrative stream is divided by low temperature-distilling the purified air. Herein, a device used in the method is composed of an injection hole(10) of an air stream led to an air compressor(12), a cooler(14), a drainage valve(16), line(17), valves(30,32), an injection manifold(18), containers(24,26), a cross linking line(28), a waste air line(34), a compressor(50) and a heater(52).
