PURPOSE: A device for detecting an amount of intake air is provided to place a detecting element on a measurement path of a measurement tube firmly and easily. CONSTITUTION: A device has a pair of detecting element supporting bodies(12) installed on the lower middle of a base plate(1). An intercepting element(11) intercepting the detecting element supporting bodies excepting one portion of the ends of the supporting bodies is installed on the bottom of the base plate, and a flow amount detecting element(13) is fixed on the rest portion of the bottom end of the detecting element supporting bodies without the intercepting element by welding. The flow amount detecting element is placed in the inner part of a measurement tube(14) having penetrated both ends, having a measurement path(14b) in its inner part, formed in an integrated cylinder and combined to the intercepting element via a measurement tube fixing member(15). Herein, if the intercepting element is inserted to the measurement tube fixing member, the flow amount detecting element is placed in the middle of the measurement path.
