METHOD FOR RECEIVING E-MAIL AUTOMATICALLY IN TELEVISION HAVING INTERNET FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A method enables to check whether there exists an E-mail arrived at an electronic post office box using a television embedded with an internet search function, and to notify the arrival of an E-mail to a viewer and to store by downloading automatically. CONSTITUTION: An internet television comprises: a modem(100) to connect through a public network and a central office or to connect with an internet through a private line of the internet; a modem controller(200) controlling the modem to connect with the internet; an internet connection part(400); and a search part(500) downloading the corresponding data in the searched site. A method comprises: a first step of judging whether there exists a mail check request from a user at a random time receiving a broadcasting program or in a random time interval; a second step of connecting to an E-mail reception box of the internet by driving the modem, the modem controller and the internet connection part if it is determined to check an E-mail through the first step; a third step of displaying a name of mail transmitter and a title of the mail with an OSD character by adjusting an OSD character generation part after accessing the name and the title of the mail if it is judged that there exists an E-mail; and a forth step of downloading the E-mail on the internet through the search part in case that a download request from a user exists.
