The feed device supplies a rotating press drum with lumps of clay. The lower moulds are fixed to the drum and are supplied with lumps of clay. There is an entry band with a conveyor belt driven by an electric motor to transport the clay lumps into the lower moulds. The movement of the clay lumps (4) during the feed is directly electronically coupled to the rotation of the press drum (10), and is synchronised with it.
